To convert a standard ISO or a folder of extracted Xbox files into a clean XISO, use the rewrite command flag ( -c for create): ./extract-xiso -c "C:\Path\To\Your\Extracted_Game_Folder"
If you are running an original Xbox emulator like xemu on macOS or Linux, the graphical tools mentioned above won't work natively. Instead, you should use , a command-line utility available for all major operating systems. Step 1: Install Extract-XISO
Place the extract-xiso executable in the same folder as your ISOs.

When you put an Xbox disc into a standard PC drive, it only sees a small video partition containing a DVD video that says "This is an Xbox game disc."
To put it simply, a standard "Redump" ISO is a perfect, 1:1 copy of an entire Xbox game disc. This copy includes everything, from game data to video partitions and large amounts of dummy data (padding). While excellent for digital preservation, this format is inefficient for everyday use due to its large file size and incompatibility.
