Trivium Discography |best| 〈UPDATED ✮〉

Trivium's journey began with a raw, aggressive sound that blended melodic death metal with metalcore.

Trivium is known for never making the same album twice, leading to some polarizing entries:

Trivium's studio albums chronicle their musical growth and willingness to experiment. The table below details each of their ten full-length releases, highlighting key information and chart performance.

Produced by David Draiman of Disturbed, Vengeance Falls is the most commercial-sounding record in the Trivium discography. Draiman's influence is highly visible in Heafy’s rhythmic, staccato vocal delivery and the album's ultra-clean production. While some purists missed the band's harsher roots, the album yielded massive active rock radio hits and widened their global audience. Silence in the Snow (2015) Trivium Discography

After signing with Roadrunner Records, Trivium released their second album, Ascendancy , on March 15, 2005. This is widely considered their commercial and artistic breakthrough, introducing their signature blend of metalcore aggression and melodic thrash metal to a global audience. It was the first album to feature the core lineup that would define the band: Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu (guitar), Paolo Gregoletto (bass), and Travis Smith (drums).

Since their debut in 2003, Trivium has evolved from Florida metalcore teenagers into a global heavy metal powerhouse. Their discography is a study in sonic shifting—moving from raw thrash and melodic death metal to polished mainstream rock and complex progressive sagas. While they have experimented with varying levels of aggression and clean vocals, the band is widely regarded as one of the most consistent metal acts of the 21st century. The Formative Years & Breakthrough (2003–2005)

"In the Court of the Dragon", "Feast of Fire", "The Phalanx". Trivium's journey began with a raw, aggressive sound

After the mixed reception of The Crusade , Trivium returned with what many fans and critics consider their absolute masterpiece, Shogun . Released between September 23 and October 1, 2008, the album was produced by renowned rock/metal producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice in Chains). It marked a triumphant return to a heavier, more progressive and technically complex sound, blending thrash, melodic death metal, and intricate songwriting.

Produced by David Draiman (Disturbed), this is Trivium’s most controversial album. Draiman sanded off the hardcore edges and pushed Matt Heafy into a more melodic, rhythmic vocal style. The result sounds like Disturbed playing Trivium songs. Fans were split; the riffs are massive, but the vocal delivery feels homogenized.

While tracks like "Entrance of the Conflagration," "Anthem (We Are the Fire)," and the progressive, instrumental title track showcased jaw-dropping musicianship, the sudden stylistic shift alienated a portion of their core fanbase. Over time, however, The Crusade has earned a reputation as a bold, necessary stepping stone in their career. Shogun (2008) Produced by David Draiman of Disturbed, Vengeance Falls

"In the Court of the Dragon," "Like a Sword Over Damocles," "The Phalanx." Fun Fact: "The Phalanx" contains a riff written during the Shogun sessions that didn't fit the previous album.

: Matt Heafy stopped screaming and used a thrash metal singing style.

Silence in the Snow marked a significant change in Matt Heafy’s vocal style, dropping harsh screams almost entirely in favor of melodic singing. Heavily influenced by classic heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden and Dio, this album is a melodic, anthem-driven effort, best represented by the title track "Silence in the Snow." 8.
